2021-2022 Leaders Class

  • Sridevi Bangaru

Sridevi is a musician who is passionate about performing and bringing joy to others through music. She grew up in Boulder, Colorado which does not have a large immigrant population, but inspired her to train in both Indian and American classical music. As a vocalist, Sridevi’s passion is for singing pop and rock covers from the 80s until now.

Through performing, she hopes to show immigrant children of the AAPI community that they can be both American and Asian; and they don’t have to pick one or the other. One of Sridevi’s dreams is to create an ensemble that is composed entirely of AAPI/BIPOC musicians and perform at AAPI/BIPOC events to empower, uplift and support our communities.

Sridevi has an extensive background in education and fitness. She teaches English to adult students in Asian countries and has tutored underprivileged kids for many years. Sridevi also serves the Asian community by designing meal and exercise plans to help them reach their health and fitness goals. This is especially important since our dietary needs and backgrounds aren’t taught to American healthcare professionals. Sridevi’s goal is to build a place that provides the kind of healthcare that is needed for AAPI/BIPOC communities. She is adventurous, loves being outdoors and trying new and different activities with friends.
